We strongly recommend selecting a Guest OS which is part of the officially supported list. Developers who use an unsupported Guest OS and request escalation assistance from VMware may be asked to reproduce some or the entire reported problem using a supported Guest OS. This stance is consistent with general support expectations for VMware products.
