For shallow installations, simply cut a pilot hole in the soil using a shovel or a flat blade that is approximately the width of the probe and insert the ECHO probe into the hole. Inserting the shovel or blade a few inches away from the probe and squeezing the soil onto the probe will improve soil to probe contact. For deep installation, contact Decagon for details on an installation tool set.
