GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT BADGER Where is Gilsum, New Hampshire?
Gilsum is a small town (population of about 800) in the southwest corner of New Hampshire. Settlers from Lyme, Connecticut founded Gilsum in the 1700s. Farming and the raising of sheep supported Gilsum’s early residents. Gilsum is sprinkled with mines and they say that in the early days, after it rained, the streets glistened with beautiful garnets too small to set, yet brilliant to see. It is here, on the banks of the Ashuelot River, that you will find the Badger Miners, formulating, mixing and filling tins with wondrous product.
