G35 My Oyster card has stopped working. What is going on?

If it beeps when you touch the reader but does not open the gate you may have less than the minimum of pay as you go / prepay on the Oyster card. If it does not beep at all when you touch the reader either the reader or the Oyster card has stopped working. Most likely it is the Oyster card. Try another gate first to see if your Oyster card works there. If there is still no beep speak to a member of staff. If it has stopped working you can go to any Tube station ticket office to have it replaced, between 7am – 10pm. They will you a new Oyster card free of charge with all your credit and/or season tickets restored on it. The only thing that can not be restored is a daily price cap or journey towards it.
