G23 My Oyster card gets the “Seek assistance” messsage a lot. What could it be?

It could be a question of technique. Do not hover, tap or swipe the Oyster card over the reader, just put it down flat in the centre, for up to three seconds and it should be fine. Or try another gate to check it again and then seek assistance from a member of staff if you still have a problem. If you get the message “Seek assistance”, when the gate actually opens you can completely ignore it.
