G185 and G186: Can candidates study the same activity for both units?
There is no reason why a centre can not use the same ‘activity’ as the focus for their evidence for unit 4 and unit 6 however, it is essential that the evidence fully meets the requirements of each unit and that records are appropriate and detailed – this is quite a challenge but not impossible, and could be done well by a well organised centre. Cross referencing is not enough, centres would be expected to duplicate relevant evidence so that it was ‘physically’ present in the candidates portfolio (this would not be a problem if candidates word processed log books, minutes etc.
