G1 Why do road signs look the same across the country?
There is a national standard for road signs. It is called the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). It specifies sign colors, fonts, shapes and designs, as well as standards for pavement markings and signposts. Every state except California adheres to the MUTCD.
