fryrender is a spectral render engine. What does that mean?

A.- Traditional render engines encode light and colors using the RGB model. In fryrender, light transport is modeled with real wavelengths. This is called spectral rendering. Spectral rendering has several key advantages in terms of accuracy. Also, spectral rendering allows for the simulation of certain natural phenomena like light dispersion, thin-film coating interference, etc… not feasible with the old RGB model.
