The amount of time needed to finish a kitchen remodeling job depends on the complexity and size of the job. Another factor is the delivery schedule of the cabinets, countertops, and appliances and flooring you include in the design. Custom cabinets, for example, will take much longer to arrive than will stock cabinets. The estimating process usually runs about 1 week. The design process takes another 1-3 weeks. The duration of the estimate/design phase is greatly dependent on the availability of the homeowner to participate in the design review sessions. The construction process takes about 6-8 weeks to order the materials and another 1-4 weeks for installation.
