The first one sounds like Indian Fry Bread. If it was not Indian Fry Bread, it could have been Bannock (Google that) but I would think the Indian Fry bread is the more likely guess. The second is an onion blossom or flower. Here is a site with several different Indian tribe breads. http://www.manataka.org/page180.html I was given some premade Sioux Fry Bread Mix made by Lisa Little Chief Specialty Foods Spearfish, South Dakota. (Maybe on the web to order it) This one will knock your socks off it is so good. For the onion blossom you is often made with a special tool and it is a bit involved to make one. The tools used in a restaurants are quite spendy but cheaper than a ticket! However there is one that I know that can be made for home use. Search Google or eBay for The Great American Steak House Onion Machine. The onion blossom is deep fried however here is a recipe if you want to try making it by hand and it is an oven
