Friday prayer takes longer then usual and it means that I usually go over my lunch break. Does this prayer time have to be taken out of my lunch time or am I allowed to take time out for Friday prayer?
Time taken for Friday prayers should be dededucted from one’s lunch hour. However, the Society does recognise that given the importance of Friday prayers it can take more than an hour. The extra time required can be taken as flexi leave i.e. time made up by working the excess hours. Having said the above, it should be noted that policy varies from department to department and is also ultimately subject to line manager’s discretion.
