A couple of suggestions from the other “termite” zone in CA. If the previous owner did have termite work done, it would behoove you to find out what was done and which company did it. Most of the termite companies out here warrant their work IF they used the high heat or tent method and some if they spot treated. You might be able to have the area affected treated by that company out of warranty. Out here, warranties are transferable because they go with the house and the work performed, not the owner. And, if you are not able to obtain that information, ask for several estimates from several companies and see what their warranties are. You may be able to spot treat the area without tenting the entire house which is a lot less expensive. One company that guarantees its spot treatments is Corky’s Pest Control and they are a lot less expensive than Termix, Orkin and some of the other big companies.
