Found a cockatiel, how to care for properly until we locate the owner?
Be sure to place ads everywhere saying you’ve found someones missing pet. If an owner doesn’t com foreward in the next week or so guess she’s yours to keep. If you have budgies now don’t put her anywhere near them, she may have a disease and you don’t want them catching it, if all goes well for the next month you can put the birds in the same room. Trade the budgie food for a Cockatiel mix. Feed her some grapes or any other fresh fruit but avocado and of course chocolate and alchohol. Make sure to keep her indoors and go through the roll of getting her to know you just like you would a budgie.
She will need cockatiel food and of course water. You can also give her a mulit vitamin and a cuttlefish. I would aslo advice buying a cuttlefish then grounding it in to fine powder and sprinkling on her food every day. They also like fresh food like lettuce, celery, romanine, apple, etc like a bugie. They also need daily free flight. You can also get mineral blocks. As for the owner you could ring your loacl vets and animla rescue to she is anyone has report losing one. You could also put an ad at you local vets. But don’t put to much information like colour so you can ask anyone to give a description if they ring claim the bird is theirs. If not one claims her and you decide to keep her i would recommend get her a friend they are very socail birds and are best keep with one of there own kind.
