FotoLook works only when logged in as Administrator on my Windows 2000 or NT4 system, the program terminates with an “I/O Error” when I try running it as a normal user. How can I fix this?
FotoLook 3.6 installs itself under \WINNT\twain_32\LOOK3_60.00 and it needs write access to this directory. Depending on your user rights, this is not always the case. To change the user’s access rights: 1. Log in as Administrator. 2. Locate the FotoLook folder. e.g. C:\WINNT\twain_32\LOOK3_60.00 3. Right click on this folder and choose Properties. 4. Click on the Security tab. 5. Select the user you want to assign access rights to. 6. Make sure this user has modify, read, & execute, list folder contents, read and write permissions. 7. Click “Apply” and “OK”. The user you selected should now be able to scan. If you do not have sufficient access rights to perform this procedure, contact your system administrator.
