Ford Ranger Fuel Filter Installation?
Hmm.. I have a 2000 Ranger, 3.0 V6. My filter was located underneath the truck on the drivers side basically right under the door. I replaced mine about a year ago. So here it goes… The inlet and outlet of the filter have the white plastic clips holding the lines on the filter. These clips are cheap so if you break one, don’t be too worried. It’s kinda hard to explain, but they are basically horseshoe shaped. So what you need to do is squeeze the two ends together. I used a pair of needle nose pliers. Squeeze them together and push them through. BUT the fuel return line that goes back to the gas tank is a different story. It uses a green clip of some sort. I couldn’t figure out how to get it off, so I just broke the green clip and pulled it out. I figured I would just buy a new one… That was not the best idea. You CANNOT just buy that clip. You have to buy a whole new fuel return line. I was kinda pissed. They do not just sell the clip so be careful.
