It really depends! A good pricing plan will probably include a fixed-rate quote for a certain specific amount of work and feature/design, with unforeseen things costing more, or not, depending on what you choose. Call for this in your contract!

Another thing is to offer support at an hourly rate. If not, then clients will call you every waking hour (and some non-waking hours) to ask for help, and you will have no legal basis for charging them if you fail to include a support clause in the contract.

So, fixed to a point, to get your foot in the door, and allow modifications (both parties consenting, of course) depending on necessity.
