For wall type/home air conditioners, some people use a commercially available coil cleaner — because it leaves a shiny surface — before applying Air Cooling Coil Coating. Is this recommended?
No. A coil cleaner that leaves a “shiny” surface may have removed some of the corrosion protection from that surface. This may reduce the durability of the evaporator itself. Also, the cleaner may leave a residue that is incompatible with Air Cooling Coil Coating, and thus render the application ineffective.
