For transmitters and receivers with an embedded clock, why does a recovered clock (RCLK) signal appear after data is no longer being sent to the transmitter inputs?
When active data is removed from the transmitter”s inputs, the transmitter will continue to send at minimum, a clock bit. The receiver continues to track this clock bit and recovers this as RCLK. To completely disable the transmitters output, the transmitter powerdown pin or output enable pin should be used. If the powerdown or output enable pin is used, the receiver will need to resynchronize to the transmitter.
