For the purpose of filing unit statistical cards, how is a catastrophe claim reported?

0

A catastrophe claim is defined as two or more claims with the same accident date and occurrence. Each set of catastrophe claims is assigned linking numeric codes. Example: Policy effective dates are 1-1-98/99. Three (3) claims are related with an accident date of 3-17-98. Catastrophe code 01 is assigned to each claim. Two (2) other claims are filed under this same reporting term. They are separate occurrences from the first set of catastrophe codes; however, they are related, with an accident date of 7-19-98. Catastrophe code 02 is assigned to each of these claims.
