For the 17th row of the second night RDI, the entry is “~0”. Should it be zero?
Yes, it should be zero. • The weight variable is supposed to be in LB as the unit. But there is one observation that was recorded as 74kg, and one 74 year-old subject was recorded as 49. And there are several observation around 60-90 (lb or kg?). How should we treat these observations? The first 3 columns under the Berlin scale are Height, Weight (lb) and subjective BMI. The ‘subjective’ BMI was calculated from what the subjects reported as their height and weight, and, as you’ve noticed, subjects aren’t always consistent in how they respond. BMI is a more indicative measure of metabolic status than height and/or weight so you should just use it. Moreover, subjects had their measurements taken and BMI calculated in the sleep lab, and the resulting BMI is available in column BH. This value is more reliable than the ‘subjective BMI’ so you should use it.
