For such a small light, is the MicroStar expensive?
Super bright white LEDs are expensive by themselves. Due to its very small and compact size, each MicroStar is hand assembled with many processes to insure that the resistive circuit contained within is properly insulated; then potted in epoxy and placed in a stainles unit to yield it waterproof. If the cost of a complete MicroStar system is considered against what it accomplishes and its low power consumption, the price is quite reasonable.
