For mentorships involving crafting a story, do I need to have a pitch accepted in order to receive mentoring?
Not necessarily, but we find that mentorships work best when a mentee has either been commissioned for work, or has a specific destination for whatever project on the mentorship will focus on. Ideally, you would have at least talked to individuals at the outlet you’re considering pitching your project, as this will help in your project’s development.
