For Math Classes) What is the Portfolio?
During the course of the year, the students will be putting work from their math classes into a portfolio to present to their parents. In addition, students will complete an essay explaining what they find difficult or frightening about math, and an essay about a career they are interested in and what kind of math they will have to do in that profession. The portfolio is assembled in the 3-Ring Binder that students are required to bring to class. The portfolio is presented by the student in a meeting with their parents. Parents are given a checklist to determine if the student has performed the presentation adequately. Mr. Arnold will be present at the portfolio presentation, but the meeting is between the student and the parents.
