If your EMR has a general search capability, since the documents are OCRed, it may be able to locate information within the record. If the EMR does not have that capability, it will be imported as a scanned image. If the latter is the case, we recommend you keep the scanned records in another location as well and utilize a search application, or document management software product (we can help you with this) to allow for searching capabilities.
