If you removed herbivores, the plants would increase because nothing would eat them, but then the carnivores would die because they have no food. With both of these, decomposers would feed on all the dead animals. If carnivores were removed, the herbivores would increase and eat all the grass. Eventually the explosion of herbivores would eat all the plants and eventually starve to death. Then the decomposers would rise because of all the food. Decomposers help to put nutrients back into the soil. Without them, the plants would not grow as well and therefore the herbivores and eventually carnivores would die. So removing any of the parts of the cycle would eventually lead to the death of all living things.
