This could be developed but would be tricky to make it flexible for different academics and ensure marks are not inadvertently affected. Perhaps instead of automatically deducting the marks, the academic would have access to a tool to deduct marks. They would choose the assessment (or assignment), state the deduction amount (e.g., amount per day), get a preview of the changes, and then commit them. That’s safer and likely less confusing for the academic than seeing different marks to what they originally gave the student. This would be a customisation.
