Shotgun and muzzleloading-only permits for Midewin are issued through the Illinois DNR lottery for Special Hunt Areas. Special Hunt Area Permits are offered through a cooperative agreement between the State of Illinois and the U.S. Forest Service. You may apply online at http://www.dnr.state.il.us or pick up an application at most IDNR offices.
