For a beginner, how long until they can ride in the saddle?
Good questionit really depends on you and your horse. If your horse has been ridden successfully at the walk, trot and canter from her previous owner, I would suggest riding as soon as possible. If not, I would not suggest riding until you are very happy with the responses you are getting from her when some pressure is applied while you are asking her to do something you know she knows how to do. For example, will she back through the gate of the round pen while a radio is playing music in the center of the round pen on a mounting block.
