Other areas ban them altogether due to fat blocking the pipes. – Composting – either in your garden or in a specialist unit (such as made by Naturemill) may be the most environmentally friendly solution but be aware that a poorly tended compost heap will decompose anaerobically and give off methane, a gas 21 times worse than CO2 for the environment.
