I have been unlucky and have had a few: 2002 flying to Syndey our plane was just about to land literally feets of the ground when it suddenly seemed to sway to the right, all the engines revved up and the plane suddenly started veering into the sky. It sounded like the engines were screeching trying to get back up again. The pilot said a sudden cross wind had prevented us from landing. 2003 On way back from australia we went through an air pocket where the plane felt like it suddenly just dropped a few thousand feet in the air. Everyone screamed and a lady walking down the isle actually fell over. Apparently they are very rare. 2005 Had to circle an airport several times before landing due to torrential rain, fog and bad winds. Everyone clapped when the pilot landed thats how rough the landing was. I now have an ingrained fear of flying but still fly.

I landed in Orlando Fl during a severe thunderstorm once. There was water standing on the runway and we began to hydroplane. The plane was actually fishtailing on the runway for 10 seconds or so until the pilot regained control. We almost ran of the runway at one point. People were screaming thinking we were going to crash. I was right above the wing so I got a really good perspective as to what the plane was doing. When we finally stopped the pilot apologized for the rough landing. We were the last plane to land before they shut the airport down for 30 minutes or so. I think a lot of people needed a change of underwear afterwards.

What is your question?
