For the purposes of Auties.Org activities and dinner clubs, here is what we are currently not promoting as autism-friendly: overt or covert spectators, researchers or interviewers coming from autism research backgrounds who are neither family, partners nor long term close friends with someone on the spectrum, nor think they themselves might be somewhere on the spectrum. Non-autistic people seeking to gather information on how they can gain themselves employment ‘helping’ people on the spectrum. These groups would be better advised to study us in books or go volunteer in the autism service sector.
