Starting ADONIS:CE after a default installation should not be a problem. However if the environment is non-standard some additional steps may be required: • If the message “ADONIS:Community Edition could not connect to the database “DATABASE_NAME”! Please try again.” appears please make sure that MS SQL Server is started (Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services). Alternatively if SQL Server is set to start automatically (default setting) restart the computer. • Some software firewalls may prevent ADONIS from connecting to the SQL Server database. This problem can also arise during installation (especially for Norton Personal Firewall). In such case ADONIS needs to be added to the “white list” in order to allow a connection with the database.If ADONIS:CE is to be used on a machine with a non Western European operating system, additional steps may be necessary to guarantee convenient work. The required steps are described in the “readme.txt” file.
