Florida Bright Futures and Prepaid college plan?
There are several options for what you can do with the money saved in your Florida Prepaid College Plan – You can continue to hold the money in the plan, and use it later to pay if you continue on to a 4-year program. You can change the beneficiary of the plan, so that the money in the account can be used by another member of your family. You can request a “scholarship refund” of the money in the account, as explained here: “UNRESTRICTED SCHOLARSHIP – If the student receives a scholarship that can be used for any qualified college expense, such as the Bright Futures scholarship, we recommend that you still use your prepaid plan. The college will bill us for the fees covered by your prepaid plan, apply the scholarship toward any other fees the student owes, and refund any remaining scholarship money directly to the student.
