Very much so. Almost everything in FLCL some how alludes to sex, puberty, or the liking. The whole series is Naota’s ascend into manhood. Sometimes the symbolism is so subtle you would never guess – other times it seems so bluntly obvious (“Swing the bat Takkun!”).
