Personally for my spinning reel I use a arbor knot as well. Then when spooling turn the line spool so its side faces the front of your reel (the line has to coil off the spool onto your reel in the same manner it coils off your reel) For instance lay the spool of line on the ground label up and check to see which way your spinner reel spins then check to see that the line comes off in the same direction as your reel spins. Counter-clockwise to counter-Clockwise and clockwise to clockwise helps prevent tangles, twists and knots at least that’s how my dad taught me, not sure if I used the correct terminology hope you get the “gist” of it though I also use line conditioner. I just recently got a new pole am 21 years old so I decided to get my own stuff instead of asking my father. Good luck!
