FIRST USED IN COMMERCE DATE – DTFUSC, FIRST USED ANYWHERE DATE – DTFUSE. What does this sentence mean?
If a date does not relate to a description, then the statement to which the date does relate must be provided. If the description specification is deleted, then the date must be modified to reflect the appropriate description, which remains. The definition received from the Trademark Division is: There is a Goods_and_Services_Description_Text attribute (GDSRV), as well as Anoth_Form_Use_Comerce_Desc_Text (AFCOM), and Anoth_Form_Use_Anywhr_Desc_Text (AF) (both are descriptions). If AF and AFCOM fields are not populated then the Goods_and_Services_Description_Text should apply to the Used dates. We are pursuing a clearer definition and will forward that information when it becomes available.
