Gazoo has been Andrew’s alter-ego since grade 7…When choosing a name for his DJ alter-ego, Andrew thought it only appropriate that the name be derived from the mythology of Gazoo. Meanwhile, the term “Radio Free” is a reference to the radio stations which were set up by the CIA as part of 1950s Cold War strategy, going back to Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia… But perhaps more importantly, “Radio Free Europe” was also REM’s first single, and is a great rocker. 🙂 As a side note, fans of alcohol may recognize “Zetox” as being a British drug derived from volcanic ash that is supposed to prevent hangovers.
