I think the 60s or 70s song could have the word ‘cherish’ on it. Thanks! ANSWER: Hi Dingdong, I’m going to give this a shot. I heard this one too as I was (and still am a big fan of TVJ novelty/parody songs). At first it would sound like the OPM parody was based on ‘Cherish’ from the Associations. But i have a very strong feeling that it’s more based on the song ‘Precious and Few’ by the Climax Blues Band. You may want to check this song out and compare the melody. FYI, Climax Blues Band had another hit about late 70s or early 80s with a ballad ‘I Love You’. Anyway, I hope i got this parody song right.
