Everybody cries about the need to get more and more corporates / brands on board for the sport. But I feel that the brands and entities involved in motor sports themselves need to move out of the circle that has been created. You have created a certain circle of audience, and now we need to cater to more and more people. It is a number game. More people you reach out to, the more visible you are. More the sport is understood by people, more is their involvement and urge to get into the sport. And, Amaron Karting Challenge is attempting to do that. With Formula One coming to India by 2011, the interest will grow. But you cannot make an assumption that the sport will grow. And, brands / corporates that are involved need to look at perfecting a model, if they have one, to support this growth. Singapore, which had a Formula One night race recently in the city, has made karting mandatory at the school level. Hence, the government is also supporting it.
