Figure Skaters Unite! Are You Frustrated With Ice Rink Management? The best ice arena managers are the ones that know something about figure skating, but when it comes down to it, much of the time, rink managers are in the dark. They pretend they understand our sport, but what we do is so complex, it is almost impossible to understand the figure skating world without first being immersed in it. Some rink managers just don’t like figure skaters and figure skating coaches. They think of “us” as the enemy and don’t realize how valuable we are to their facility.
