Hmmm. This may not be my best figure! What I was trying to indicate is that HC may accumulate in the crest of the tilted fault block (half horst”[!! See previous question]) at different times. The source rocks on the downthrown block (underneath the half graben) would probably reach maturity earlier (hotter because deeper) than those down the tilted flank of the uplift. Thus, HC might become trapped at different times, and as a result of different migration routes.
