Ferrari that a starting collector or average car guy can purchase?
Things have really changed over the past few years in the Ferrari collector car market. Just a few years ago, there were some really affordable cars out there. My first Daytona coupe (a ’74 in ’75) was $16,000. Those days are gone. Even the oft-overlooked 250 series cars have gotten expensive…. especially compared to the days when that 250GTE struggled to sell for $10 grand; the 330GT 2+2 crossed the $100K mark a couple years ago. The interesting news is that for last quarter 2008, 360-430 prices have followed the declining Dow almost perfectly. Bad for sellers, Good for buyers. Now, more cars are in that ‘affordable’ $100k +/- range. If that Ferrari 360 was just a bit too pricey last summer, click onto the Ferrari Inventory to see how affordable many models have become. You might be surprised. Next year, as the economy rebounds worldwide (& it will rebound sometime next year), we’ll all see a recovery in home prices, stock prices and Ferrari prices.
