FedEx Delivered Package; Who Stole Christmas?
Chicago – Mary Nichols said she stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday, waiting for a delivery from FedEx. But she said she never got that package. Nichols said someone stole her boyfriend’s Christmas gift, a Dell laptop computer. “You feel violated like you can’t trust anyone,” Nichols said. “We knew that it was coming that day,” she said. Nichols said she worked from Tuesday home to wait for the package. “My significant other sent me a message, ‘Is it here?’ I was waiting for it and I went out and nobody knocked, but there was a slip on the door. Nobody knocked. I was here the whole time.” Nichols said she signed a slip at the end of the day Tuesday that instructed FedEx to ring the doorbell or leave the package in the lobby of her North Side midrise. According to video from the building’s security camera, the computer was delivered by FedEx at 4:24 Wednesday afternoon.
