Eye on the Little Guy: Where are They Now?
With new launches and re-launches of alternative auction sites being few and far between so far in 2007, this week we take a look at two of the marketplaces we’ve previously profiled in eBay Watch and weigh in on some of their news, developments and promotions. In September of last year we reported on BikerBids.com. At that time, the auction site had less than 200 live listings. Not too much has changed in that department, however, since then Biker Bids has invested in some advertising for a little kick-start. This month they will have ads in “ThunderPress Magazine,” and are also promoting the site at bike shows. In an interesting twist, Biker Bids partnered up with an Internet biker dating club that has 200,000 registered bikers and formed its own Biker Bids Dating Service.
