An IP Address comprises of 2 parts. A Network ID and a Host ID. In simple words, its like the Street Address and the Door Number, where Street Address is your Network ID and the Door number is the unique host ID.

Ip means internet protocol.If we want to communicate two or more system we need a ip address. Each system has unique ip address. ip address consists of 4 bytes seperated by dots. Your IP address is assigned by an ISP or by yourself.Here’s an example of what an IP address might look like: 192.168.1.1 .

Two types of ip address we are using:
1)Internal ip address
2)External ip address
If you want to check your internal ip address on Windows use the following methods:
1)start->Run->cmd->type ipconfig
2)If you want to check your External ip address you can visit this site Ip-details.com
