All staff-written news from the library electronic archives (starting in September 1992) is available at http://www.pe.com/archives/. Searching is free. There is a fee for reading or downloading the full text. You can contact the library at newslibrary@pe.com. The Press-Enterprise Library answers telephone inquiries from the public from 3 to 4 p.m. weekdays at (951) 684-1200. At other times, you may leave a voice mail message at (951) 368-9488, and your call will be returned. The library can provide the dates of stories which you can find at area libraries. In select cases, the library staff can arrange for copies to be sent for a fee. On a limited basis, you can research the library archives in person, by appointment only, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. All staff-written news is also available electronically through Dow Jones News/Retrieval, Dow Jones Interactive, Lexis-Nexis and UMI/Proquest Direct. Many public and college libraries have access to these databases.
