The bacteria in Bacti-Zyme® are very efficient at digesting waste, many times faster than naturally occurring bacteria. However, they are not as “strong” as the natural bacteria that may be present in the waste. If the treatment is stopped, the natural bacteria will eventually overpower and replace the good bacteria. Additionally, plumbing lines, grease traps and septic tanks are very harsh environments that do tend to inhibit these desirable bacteria. In order to keep a large bacteria population available at all times, we need to re-treat.
