Ever time I double click a clip in a bin it opens up into a new source monitor. Is there anyway to prevent this?
A. Once you have at least one source monitor open you can drag a new clip onto it to open it. Some people find this method helps reduce screen clutter. Or, if you prefer to use the double click method, you can go your user settings, select “Bin”, and change “Double Click Loads Clip In; New Pop-up Monitor” to “Double Click Loads Clip In; Existing Pop-up Monitor”. Also, holding the ALT key while double-clicking the clip will open the clip in the active pop-up monitor will work for a single use. Another method is to go to Toolsets > Source/record editing and your clips will automatically open in the source window.
