The Moon orbits in 27.32 days. 360 degrees/27.32 days = 13.18 degrees/day Edit: Ahh. The North-South movement is more complex and slower. Let’s try that one too. The Moon’s orbit is tilted about 5 degrees from the plane of the Earth’s orbit, which is 23.5 degrees from the Equator. Sometimes that 5 degrees will add and sometimes it will subtract. It will average at 23.5 degrees though, so we’ll use that number. In 1/2 an orbit the moon moves from +23.5 to -23.5. For this hypothetical orbit, the first quarter is at -23.5 and the last quarter is at +23.5. The moons position could be approximated by 23.5 * sin(90 * d/7). d=0 being full, d = -7 first q and d = 7 last q. sin in degrees. At the highest and lowest it will not travel fast, near the middle it will move about 5.25 degrees per day north or south. More movement than I first thought.
