Women have to deal with escalating health care costs, taxes, accessing new markets, access to capital, and winning venture and angel capital investments. To help level the playing field, women business owners need to better understand the business environment and learn how to recognize the opportunities, tools and resources that exist, such as SBA loans, new sources of capital, and training and mentoring programs offered by Women’s Business Centers across the country. What current or emerging issues should women business owners watch closely? Women business owners should follow many issues, but particularly access to capital and government regulations, such as those included in the Sarbanes-Oxley law.
